Sledgehammer in Focus by AceDarkfire Sledgehammer in Focus by AceDarkfire
Yep. I got around to doing an "in focus" render of it. Anti-Aliasing could be better in some areas though, but it came out good.

And I found two areas I hadn't detailed - the underside of the missile-torso's where the shoulder-socket is located. Hahah. Whoops. Not like you can see it here anyway, so it doesn't matter much right now.

How tall is a Sledgehammer?

Hmn... give or take a meter... around 18 meters right to the top of the antenna's.

That's scaling it in proportion to a 6' tall "scaling dummy" that looks like something out of "The Incredibles," and put side-by side to the Kanshisha, which is just under 17m tall to the top of its antenna's.

I had commented on this mech on another submission. I think you have a great idea about those turrets mounted on each shoulder... like Anti-Aircraft cannons that would move independently from the rest of the weapons. I've not seen anything like that before.

awsome, heh I like the untextured stuff sometimes, gives it a factory new look; or just unpacked and assembled feel.

Well, if I didn't suck at textures, and if Wings3D didn't choke on anything over 15k polygons, I'd probably try. But I did fall out of doing textures a number of years ago, as I didn't find it as nice as making the model itself, and that I was never really good at them in the first place.

Your stuff is good, but is there a reason you don't texture anything?

Yeah, I stopped doing it 3 or 4 years ago. Never liked the process, never found it as fun as just doing the model itself.

I know how you feel. Brings back memories, doesn't it? heehee.

Interesting pose you used for this one, Ace. It's neat how the Hammer's feet are spread a little bit and leaning back on the "ankles".
